Here, questions may be asked, and will be updated as time goes by.
Q: How did you come up with this idea!?
A: Correction, this was not my idea. This entire Role Play is based on a book written by Maggie Stiefvater, which is titled The Scorpio Races. I highly suggest that you read it if you haven't already. Its a wonderful read! You can learn more at her website here: maggiestiefvater.com/the-scorpio-races/
Q: Will cannons from the book be accepted?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: What are these Capall thingies? I haven't really read the book yet/before.
A: That's okay! While it is recommended that you've read the book before, we can still get you going! The Capall Uisce are a breed of predatory ocean horses. They are described as being similar to regular horses (coming in all the same colors and such, though pinto/paint are rarer), but with slightly longer ears and legs. I personally picture them as being a large thoroughbred or warmblood, if that helps. They can also sort of be thought of as kelpies in a way. They are carnivorous, highly unpredictable, and therefore, highly dangerous. Brave Thisby residents capture and attempt to train these beasts during the month of November. This is what the entire basis of the RP's story is based off of.
Q: Where is the RP set?
A: The RP is set on Thisby. Picture an island somewhere over around the UK or Scotland- its got that sort of feel about it. America exists, and that's where some foreigners come from to see stock from the Malvern's, and to come see the races.
Q: Do I have to make a celebrity claim (also known as a face claim)?
A:Nope! It is purely for fun.
As of 12/19/12 I am updating this... All characters need to have a face claim! It helps us to stay better organized, and offers more opportunities for graphics. Horses and capall are the only exception, however, to this rule.
Q: What happens if I am absent for an extended time, without warning?
A: Initially, nothing. We have a grace period of up to two months. At the two month mark, though, your character Apps will be moved to the 'Dead' and Missing board. Your account will be given an additional month, unless contact is made with the admin, before being deleted. At this point, the character face claim will be re-opened, and the character Application deleted.
Q: Are their limits on how many characters I can make?
A: At this time, there are not. Feel free to make however many you can handle!
Q: If I make a new character, do I need to make a new account?
A: Yes. As of 12/19/12, this is mandatory. In order to create a new character, a new account will be necessary. Simply re-register with the new character's name, and create their app, ect. This applies only to new HUMAN characters. Capall and horses do not require a new account, only another application post.
Q: Does my username HAVE to be my character's name?
A: Yes, another 12/19/12 update. While the username you register with doesn't have to be the character's name, your display name in your profile does need to be. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this is needed to track people better.
