Personality: Roland is fiercely protective of his daughter, Anastasya. He dislikes her riding in the Races, but over the course of time, with several bouts of trial and error, he's come to realize that he won't be able to keep her off of the horses, Capall or otherwise. His wife was taken, not to the Mainland, but my illness years ago. He has refused to remarry, thinking that there is no way he could love anybody else as he loved Clara. Despite this he is lighthearted and fun to be around. He has a brave exterior, though inwardly the Capall Uisce are a constant worry for him. Because of his grief over his wife's death, and his weariness of them, he has only ever ridden in the races three times, all of which were in the years directly after Clara's death.
Appearance: Average height for a male, he has lightly tanned skin and soft grey eyes. His hair is a sandy brown color. His build is lean, but with a decently muscled chest and arms.
Distinguishing Characteristics: None really, aside from the dimple on his chin. He has a dimple/cleft on it.
Resident or Non-Resident: Resident
Job: Fishing Supplier, making harpoons, nets, ect.
History: He was born on the island to his mother Emily, and a Mainland man that left before his birth. He was a complete momma's boy, and still is. Like many children on the island, he completed odd-jobs at a younger age. His first time seeing the Capall was a younger age, and even then he was weary of them. Years later, when he was 18, his daughter was born between he and his 19 year-old best friend, Clara. They married not long after. The first years of the marriage were rough. Roland's deep attachment to his wife kept the family together until his daughter was five At that time, Clara was struck ill with something that he still believes came from the Mainland.
Overcoming grief swept his rational side away, and he overcame his fear three times, participating in the Scorpio Races for the three years after Clara died. He finally came to realize after an arguement with his mother that his daughter needed him. He participated in no races afterward, deciding he needed to be with his living daughter, rather than risking himself to go join his dead wife. Fate would take him when it was his time. Ever since he's dedicated himself to keeping the family afloat, and trying to craft the best future he can for he, and his daughter.
Other: He and Benjamin Malvern have bad blood between them, because they both loved Anastasya's mother, Clara, however she chose Malvern. He doesn't like people from the Mainland, and is somewhat paranoid when they come to the island for Races.
