Name: Tanner Cole Boeman
Age: 18
Gender: male
Personality: Due to the fact that he really had no one to talk to growing up, although polite, he is relatively quiet when around others with not much to say. He is strongly protective of both the people in his life and his capall uisce. Although he is quiet he is very strong minded and determined in situations, never letting anything stand in his path. He is passionate about riding because it seems to be the only way he can find any release from his thoughts. Despite the fact it has put a scar in his relationship with his father, he can not give up his love of the sea. He is often found deep in thought, and although he doesn't do it purposely, people often think he is ignoring them. He is very patient and although he doesn't care about much, what he does care about he treasures. He is not fearful or anxious and has he has grown to be good at hiding his emotions. At this stage in his life you could even consider him numb towards most things and to see him truly happy is rare.
Appearance: Tanner has dark brown hair, seemingly black at first glance. His eyes are a gray green. He 5'11 and, although lean, has considerable muscle tone from working his whole life at his fathers barn. His hands are seemingly stained with dirt from dealing with the capall and horses he trains. He often has bruises covering his arms but the dark green sweater he always wears usually covers them.
Distinguishing Characteristics: He has the ever so slightest fear of heights although he doesn't let it get to him. He is always generous even when he has nothing to give. Although few see it, his smile is charming and shows the dimples he hated as a child. He has a scar on his left shoulder that slides slightly down his back from the slashing kick of a rearing capall uisce. He has a natural way with horses and capall uisce. Also he has a strong bond with his capall, Argo, who seems to be living prove of his mothers view of the sea.
Resident or Non-Resident: Resident
Job: After his fathers incident, Tanner took over his fathers business of buying, selling, and training horses and capall uisce. Thankfully he was born with the gift of having natural talent with the beast.
History: Born into a happy and loving family that consisted of only his mother and father, Tanner had happy and memorable childhood years. His father owned and ran his own training facility where he raised, bought, sold and trained horses as well as capall uisce. His barn was located only yards from the beach and there were no neighbors in sight, which was just how he liked it. Although it was not the finest place on the island, and could only hold few horses at once, his father had many happy customers. His father was a loud and happy man who always believed that everything happened for a reason, and that you should never doubt fate. As a son who looked up to his father with high loyalty and respect, his fathers beliefs were slowly born again within him. Tanner vowed to stand true to them all his days. His mother was a beautiful woman with flowing brown hair and blue eyes. She was a kind woman with a great love of the sea, even knowing the dangers lurking below. She always told Tanner that the sea was the most beautiful thing in the world but that what comes with beauty is danger. She taught him to be cautious but never to be fearful of it, however, because you can never look at only one side of something. Although there house was small, there barn full and there was always food on the table. One day, however, the charm their life held would be destroyed. One cool afternoon Tanners father's was bringing in a new capall uisce. She was a dark bey mare with a lust for the sea. A lust too strong to contain. The mare broke free of Tanner's fathers grasp and took off towards the sea. She tore through everything in her path to the sea, including Tanner's mother, who had been riding on the shore. The mare charged the gelding she rode and his mother soon found herself under the thundering hooves of the fighting horses. By the time they reached her, it was too late; her wounds had already taken her life. His father never got over the death of his beloved wife, and became confident that drinking would drown his sorrows. Although Tanner tried to sympathize with his father, he shut him out. He is scarcely seen out of his room and only leaves to buy whisky. Tanner became uncertain of things but let the horses slowly heal him. Thankfully Tanner knew everything his father did about training and riding and was able to continue keeping up the barn and house. Despite that, things went slow after that and business died down to almost nothing. Tanner found himself barely scraping by. One afternoon, many years later, Tanner came home one day from picking up a bit he had ordered to find his father chasing a capall around in circles in the pin. After taking a closer look Tanner saw that his father had a stick in his hand and was screaming and lashing at the beast. This beast seemed unlike the others, he sensed something within Tanner's father and rather that attacking, tried to stay away. Tanner raced into the pin and shoved his father to the ground. The capall, strangely enough stayed away from the brawl, snorting, ears pinned back in the corner of the pen. Tanner had knocked the bottle out of his fathers hand and shoved him out of the pen. He cursed Tanner and spit in the direction of the capall. Although his father thought he had the bey mare, he had actually caught a stallion, much darker in color. Tanner never accepted his fathers behavior, but was thankful, in a way, because this capall would become his companion.
