Name: Spencer Wiggins
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Personality: Spencer is intelligent and inquisitive. Often he suffers from detachment issues when he gets separated from people in general; he is quite social. Perhaps even saying too much sometimes. He's shy around members of the opposite sex, especially when he likes them. This is partially because of hormones, but also because doesn't know quite what to expect, lacking a mother, or siblings of any sort. He is thoroughly a book worm and can be described as a slight geek, especially when it comes to his hobbies, however in a way, he's always been attracted to the sea, even if he hasn't quite had the guts to try to ride.... yet. Perhaps this year will be the one.
Appearance: He inherited his mother's fairer skin tone, but his father's slim build and dark red-brown hair. His eyes are dark amber. Height: 6’ 2” (kinda lanky). Weight: 175 lbs. His hands are slightly small for a man's, however it is of little consequence: it allows him more accuracy with his craft. His face is open and approachable; friendly looking. His back has burn scars from a fire in the shop when he was small, so he often wears a shirt, even on the warmer summer days.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Eyes are dark Amber. Scars on back.
Resident or Non-Resident: He was not born native, but he resides on Thisby.
Job: Saddle-Maker, along with his father.
History: His father was a saddle-maker for the island, one of the better ones. Many people came to request equipment from him, and so he often grew to meet many new people. In this way, that is how events came to be. It was on a Scorpio Race eighteen years ago that Spencer was concieved; evidence from a drunken night between the saddle-maker Eric, and a pretty girl from the Mainland. Nothing was to come of their romp in the hay barn, however nine months later she returned with the baby, and left him with his father.
Eric was a good father for his son, despite the abruptness of his entrance into his life. He excitedly taught the boy his craft when he showed interest at it at such a young age. Even at five, he proved a worthy student, quickly picking up the art.
At the age of seven, some spilled saddle polish caught fire in the workshop. He was trapped inside and pinned under a fallen beam. Spencer had wailed and wailed himself nearly mute before his father finally returned, and thankfully made his way inside to rescue the boy before any further damage could be dealt. Eric's son very nearly died in those following weeks, but managed to make a slow recovery. The first night of the races seemed to be the day his turn solidified, perhaps a gift from the Mare Goddess in some indirect form, or so his father swore. In the man's eyes, it had to be so, an effect from not using the wishing shell he'd received previously.
After that, Spencer made a swift recovery. He resumed work in a new shop with his father just as soon as it was constructed. This has continued for years afterward. He just recently finished out school, and now works full time alongside his father, though his curiosity and longing for the races and his own Capall tug at him every day. Drawing and painting them is not enough anymore, he's begun to realize.
Other: These are his hobbies: He rather likes creating paintings of the Capall, though his best known is his saddle-tooling.
