Name: Rhys Blake
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality:Rhys is a pretty amiable sort of guy. He's easy to like, and finds ways to get along with most people in return. Its clear though when he doesn't like somebody though; while not being BRUTALLY SPITEFUL, he does take on a sort of passive aggressive behavior toward them. More often than not, its one of those “I choose not to associate my time with them.”
On another note, he is very hard-working…. At least when something holds his interest; perfectionist can be used to describe him in this case. Half-assed can describe him in the opposite. Along with this perfectionist attitude, he is prideful. When he is right, he is right, at least in his own eyes. This makes it difficult for him to follow directions properly, especially if Rhys believes his way is the better way.
He believes in the value of education (and is in fact smart despite his attitude sometimes).
He is something of a "free-spirit", well known for happiness and joking during his work.
His mother got him into something quite common among Thisby islanders as a child; horseback riding in the fields and on the beaches. He's maintained that skill.... Which would explain his excitement to get on a Capall as soon as he is able.
Independence. He likes it. He doesn’t much care to ask for help (maybe he’s got the smallest bit of a superiority disorder.), but he will offer it. Between that, and being somewhat righteous, Rhys is compassionate. If you need help, genuine help, he will give it. Truly he’s not so much a bad guy, just very impatient sometimes.
Appearance: Taller guy. Average weight. Relaxed, but well put together style. Professional-ish looking. His eyes are blue, his hair a shady brown with a lighter brown sort of natural highlight to it. His skin remains deeply tanned from being outside as much as he is.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Permanent limp from a bad break to his leg when he was younger... courtesy of Czar.
Resident or Non-Resident: Resident
Job: Tavern-Worker. He mainly washes down tables, ect, though his grandmother is a relative of Benjamin Malvern. A second cousin through marriage. This is why he managed to receive Czar.
History:Alexandria was a woman of few words. From the time she was young, her family swore they’d never be able to marry her. Men were highly irritating to her; no intelligent conversation to be had. At eighteen, she set out for the Mainland. Five years later, she had received and education and tried to begin a writing career, beginning with a book of stories from Thisby, much to her joy. It was here, after her book had gone through a small publishing company, that one of the Mainland men managed to lure her into a relationship. Although brief, she was happy with him, and settled… Though four months after she became pregnant, the man revealed he was still married, and left. She returned to the Island. Five months later, Rhys was born.
It was apparent from the time he was small that the boy was special – his charisma seemed to attract horses. Once, as a child, he had crawled out into the pen of one of the horses. Despite sitting beneath its feet, he never was harmed. That only began a domino effect as time passed. When he was a tad older, he had another major exposure to the equestrian world, from his grandmother, which stuck with him forever. His time riding began after that. Proving difficult at first, but once he got the hang of it, his knack for learning seemed to blossom. It was a pattern that stuck for years.
In his fourteenth year, on a seemingly normal autumn day, he had gone out to discover a 2 year old stallion in the pen at his grandparents. It seemed it had had ground training, so that same day he made the mistake of trying to ride... The first couple times he got bucked off, he took in stride. But at a third, the stallion lashed out with a vengeance. The boy’s leg had been broken then, and it seemed a miracle that it had healed properly enough for him to walk after that. The limp that remained will be with him until the day he died. Afterward, his mother became very hesitant on his riding.
The following year, his mother made to take a trip to the Mainland. Rhys did not understand the reason for the travel. He didn’t need to though. The fifteen year old was glad that while his mother was going to be absent; it’d leave him time to ride the then-gelding, and to watch the Scorpio Races for the first time. It was at the first time seeing them that he swore he wanted to participate someday.
In the following week after the races, his mother returned, having had no luck in finding his father, which had been her purpose for going. The day she returned, he was in the pen with the gelding, trotting in figure eights. She’d been about to pull him off, until her mother came out and stopped her. The fight to keep Rhys off the horse had been lost.
Rhys never spoke of his hope to race to her, but it never made a difference. In the following years at the races, she could simply tell. His time is coming, she knows, and soon.
Other: He's currently in the process of trying to get a Capall so he might race. He's not having much luck.
(OPTIONAL) Celebrity Claim: Landon Liboiron
Name: Czar
Age: 6
Stallion or Mare: Gelding
Capall Uisce or Island Horse: Gypsy Vanner. Imported... So, uhm, Island Horse? ;P
Rider: Rhys Blake
Appearance and Color: Standing at 16hh tall, the grey gelding is truly a beauty. A special import, the gelding's form matches the breed standard nearly to a "T". Beautiful white feathering adorns his legs below the knee. Darker grey points, mane and tail accent the lighter color of his body... Despite all this, physically the gelding can't compare to a Capall.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Soulful brown eyes. Pretty grey coloring.
Personality: Very sweet as a gelding... Before, though, as a stallion, the aggression nearly rivaled a Capall. He has a tendency to get 'lippy' when he doesn't receive the attention he would like, but otherwise he could now be considered a 'nanny' horse; safe around anybody... unless a Capall is around, of course.
Other: This would be effectively what he looks like:
